Who goes geocaching?

People all over the world go geocaching, and they are people of all ages. Because there are such a wide variety of geocaches, there are hunts for people with a wide variety of interests and abilities. While some adults choose to go geocaching alone, many people geocache with friends and family. The thrill of the hunt is a big part of the sport and this attracts a broad spectrum of the population.

Who keeps track of the sport?

As we describe on the 'how' page, most of the geocaches in the world can be looked up on geocaching.com. This web site is operated by Groundspeak, Inc. and much of the administration work is handled by volunteers around the world. Each person who hides a geocache is responsible for maintaining it.
